Every diamond is unique.
Each reflects the story of its arduous journey from deep inside the earth to a cherished object of adornment.
Yet all diamonds share certain features that allow us to compare and evaluate them. These features are called the 4Cs.
The 4Cs represents the globally accepted standard for describing diamonds: Carat weight, Colour, Clarity, and Cut
carat colour clarity cut shape
round
oval
Oval diamonds are brilliant cut, elliptical variation of the round diamond. Ovals provide a bigger surface area than a round diamond with the same carat weight and are therefore a popular choice for buyers looking for a larger diamond with the same brilliance as the round cut diamond.

It is usually cut with the standard 58 facets giving it as much brilliance as a round diamond. The lovely oval shape accentuates the length of fingers making them look more slender.

Oval diamonds can be 'short and fat' or 'long and thin' and it is just a question of taste. Ancardi's gemmologists hand pick diamonds with well rounded ends with a full body which will minimise the chance of breakage.
